ANGEL Program BENIN is a program developed by former Beninese scholarship holders of the YALI (Young African Leaders Initiative) which aims to help strengthen the entrepreneurial capacities of young entrepreneurs. This program has set up a compass document called Business Development Plan intended to support young entrepreneurs from the idea to the creation of a business and its management. This important document was popularized in several big cities of Benin including Lokossa thanks to training workshops. For the Lokossa stage, we are actively engaged in the practical organization of the training on February 7 and 8, 2019. Thus, as an organization working for the strengthening of entrepreneurial capacities in the Mono, we were selected for coordinate the mobilization of young entrepreneurs locally. In addition, during the two days of training, we presented the working document that was the subject of the said training and contributed to the mentoring of the participants during the group work.
In addition, a second creativity workshop was initiated on April 16, 2019 to strengthen the sense of creativity among young entrepreneurs. Led by Peace Corps Volunteer Skye Gretchen, Youth for Challenge was responsible for mobilizing participants, preparing the activity and facilitating its implementation. These different collaborations have enabled us to highlight our focal position in the region and our organizational and managerial skills. Today, we are a social enterprise that is eager to contribute to the acquisition and strengthening of entrepreneurial skills through training and workshops, mentoring and coaching young entrepreneurs.
In terms of results, fifty-two (52) young entrepreneurs understood, adopted the Business Development Plan and pitched their projects. In addition, around thirty young schoolchildren, pupils and students also developed their sense of creativity.
