Coronavirus: many questions about the reopening of schools and universities

The reopening of schools and universities planned across the country for Monday, May 11, still leaves many parents and teachers perplexed. The "majority of schools" will be there on May 11, assured the Minister of Nursery and Primary Education Salimane Karimou. To accommodate them, schools must respect a very strict sanitary protocol: repeated hand washing, prohibited games, disinfection of equipment, marked direction of movement on the ground, etc. A puzzle, especially in kindergarten, some teachers argue.

Some parents and school union associations are asking the authorities to postpone the reopening of schools, judging the date of May 11 "untenable and unrealistic". Children will not be able to follow the protective measures to the letter raise many voices.

Will all children who are not aware of the health crisis be able to protect themselves as indicated? The answer is obviously no. And the distance meter between individuals? How do you deal with university lecture halls and lecture halls that have more than 50 individuals?

The risk the government is taking is great. But the government ministers, in particular those of education, the economy and finance, affirm that all measures have been taken to ensure the health security of children in schools. It remains to be seen whether all parents of students will send their children to school by following the government.

See you on Monday, May 11.
